WHO CAN DO A GAS CONVERSION IN MELBOURNE? WE CAN!

WHAT IS A GAS CONVERSION?
A LPG conversion on a vehicle adds a tank to the boot of your car and gas lines to the engine that allow the driver to switch between petrol and propane gas. This gives a the driver a lower cost in fuel expense and in certain cases, a boost in engine performance.
While it is possible to put your car onto straight LPG gas, it is not recommended. If you have a problem with the gas or not close enough to a LPG station you won’t have the petrol as a backup option.
LPG for vehicles is called Autogas, which is a purer grade and blend of gases than the propane you would be used to for your BBQ. Since Autogas is a blend of propane and butane, your vehicle will not run off of a cylinder off BBQ gas, which is propane only.
When your vehicle undergoes a LPG conversion, it will begin to save you money from the first day since LPG is typically at least fifty percent cheaper than other fuels. This means you can recover the cost of the conversion in a relatively short time.
THE GOVERNMENT REBATE
Know as the LPG Vehicle Scheme, the Government provides a grant to buy a new private-use vehicle that has been fitted with a LPG system before it is first registered or for a LPG fuel conversion of a private-use vehicle that has already been registered.

If the brand new car you buy already has a LPG system installed, you can claim a $2000 refund. This includes vehicles fitted with LPG at the time of manufacture and vehicles fitted with LPG after manufacture, but before first registration.
If you convert your existing vehicle to LPG, you can currently claim $1000 back from the government if completed between 1 July 2012 and 30 June 2014.
