GAS CONVERSIONS MELBOURNE – QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q. WHERE DOES LP GAS COME FROM?
A. There are two sources of supply:
1. LP Gas can be stipped from natural gas which is a gas that has been extracted from oil/or gas fields.
2. Refinery Production

LP Gas is a by-product of petroleum refining & in Australia there is refinery production of LP Gas in all mainland states.
Q.IS LP GAS SAFE?
A. All use of LP Gas in vehicles is controlled Government regulations and National Codes. The components associated with the LP Gas fuel system are manufactured and then fitted to extremely strict standards. There is substantial practical evidence to confirm that LP Gas fuelled vehicles are as safe, if not safer than petrol fuelled vehicles. In Australia all motor mechanics must qualify for a licence with relevant authorities in each State (involving extended training) to allow them to install and /or repair LP Gas components.
Q. DOES LP GAS HAVE AN EFFECT ON ENGINE WEAR?
A. An appreciable reduction in overall engine wear is normal. This is particularly applicable during cold starting because LP Gas does not wash lubricating oil from the cylinder walls. Modern Unleaded Petrol engines are especially suitable for conversion to LP Gas.
Q. HOW IS LP GAS PRICED?
A. Internationally, LP Gas is world parity priced on a tonnage rate set by the producers and reflected by the demand and supply.
Australian production has always exceeded the local market, however as part of the international market, LP gas prices are subject to international pricing. The Australian Government have given an undertaking to continue concessions to the LP Gas industry in order to encourage the use of environmentally friendly alternative fuels. These concessions should continue to show a marked difference in the pricing between LP Gas and other fuels.
Q. WHERE CAN I GET CONVERTED?
A. LPG Auto Power will quote you the most competitive price using the highest quality equipment available. Usually the conversion will take 2-3 days to complete depending on the type of vehicle involved.
Q. WHY DO WE DO SO MANY CONVERSIONS?

Q. WHAT HAPPENS IF I RUN OUT OF GAS? CAN I STILL USE PETROL?
A. Yes, the original petrol system is retained. A dashboard switch allows immediate switch-over
Q. IS THERE ANY LOSS IN PERFORMANCE?
